The Recovery System Pt.2 – WATER, WATER, WATER.
When you are training with the intensity required to get the results desired it’s important to remain sufficiently hydrated. If you can hit 2-3 litres a day you are about there.
This will keep you hydrated, helping to keep you feeling full as dehydration is often perceived as hunger. The water will help clear toxins from your muscles and organs and flush them out, mostly down the toilet. You might find yourself going to the loo every hour or two and that’s ok. It will also help keep you regular and let your body perform a host of vital chemical functions.
Keep a water bottle with you and gulp on a regular basis. Try to get through a 600ml bottle every three hours. That’s less than a glass of water per hour. You will be amazed at the difference it will make to your recovery, as well as your energy levels and performance.
